City Council

Introduction

The City Council is the highest decision-making body in all matters within the rights and responsibilities of the municipal corporation and thus represents the legislative body of the city municipality.

It consists of 33 members. Their term lasts for four years. Their duties and rights are determined by law, the statute of the City of Kranj, the rules of procedure of the city council, and other regulations. City councilors perform their duties on a non-professional basis and convene at regular and extraordinary sessions of the city council and its working bodies. The mayor represents, convenes, and presides over the city council but does not have voting rights.
