Mayor of Kranj wishes all the best to the new mayor of Colorado Springs

Yemi Mobolade is the new mayor of Colorado Springs, who sworn in the day before yesterday as the 42nd mayor of this city. Mayor of City of Kranj Matjaž Rakovec yesterday congratulated the newly elected mayor of the American city, which has been twinned with Kranj since last year. Their first conversation was very constructive. They agreed to build on the excellent cooperation between the two cities and they also agreed on mutual meetings that will further strengthen ties and create progress for the benefit of both cities in the future.

When taking the oath, Yemi Mobolade also addressed the citizens with the words: "You told me you wanted safer neighborhoods." In May 2023 The City of Kranj was awarded the title of the safest city in Slovenia. Safety in the city will definitely be one of the points where Kranj can share its good experiences.

The common points and views of the two mayors include, among other things, ambitious and decisive action and setting high goals for the benefit of all citizens.

Colorado Springs' new mayor has set three top priorities for his first 100 days in office: building support among government officials, engaging the community and building public trust, addressing the city's most pressing challenges in public safety, housing and infrastructure, and economic vitality.
