Digital Development Strategy of the City Municipality of Kranj 2032
Digital development plays an increasingly important role in improving quality of life, enhancing the accessibility of public services, and supporting the sustainable development of local communities. Through the Smart City and Community Digital Development Strategy 2020–2023, the City Municipality of Kranj established the foundations of a modern digital environment and introduced a range of digital solutions that are already widely used by residents. The Digital Development Strategy of the City Municipality of Kranj 2032 builds on these achievements and sets the direction for the municipality’s digital development through 2032.
The strategy addresses the key challenges of the future – connecting existing digital solutions into a unified system, ensuring secure and responsible data governance, improving the user experience, and using digital technologies to support sustainable development, more efficient municipal administration, and higher-quality public services. Digitalisation is not an end in itself, but a means of delivering more accessible, transparent, and user-friendly services.
The strategic framework is built around four key pillars: Digital Foundations, Digital Services and Society, Digital Governance and Operations, and Digital Economy and Ecosystem. Together, these pillars provide the framework for developing a secure, inclusive, and data-driven smart community, while supporting further digital innovation, more efficient municipal governance, stronger connectivity, and an improved quality of life in Kranj.
